Why I enjoyed every minute:

Vast expanses of green rolling hills, craggy peaks, fresh air and spongy grass made this the perfect weekend escape from the working week. This was one of our last mini-breaks before the birth of our baby, but it is a great place to take children too. Clouds cast shadows across the hills. Little villages, such as Bakewell and Castleton are quaint and uncrowded.Derbyshire is more accessible from the South than the Lake District and every bit as picturesque.
