Anyone wishing to get a sense of London's out-of-the-way places, as well as insider info about the usual tourist highlights, should check out the Blue Badge tour guides. They're professional and supremely knowledgeable. I couldn't recommend them any higher. Couple a week's stay at the Mandarin Oriental with Blue Badge tours every day... this American was spoiled and fell in Love with London in the summer of '09.
